I have an intense fear of throwing up. I haven't been sick like that since I was in grade school & do whatever I can do avoid it. It is a very unhealthy fear that runs my life & is making me quite miserable. The only solution I can think of is hypnotherapy. However, I do not see anything close to this category. I need your help to first of all decide is this would be a good course of action & secondly how would I go about starting hypnosis. Any help or advice would be appreciated. After 5 years of suffering with this I think I am ready to take it on. Thank you.

Hi,

I assisted a woman, age 24, that had suffered from this fear for something
like 10 or 12 years. The hypnotherapy/NLP was successful for her. I'd
recommend that you seek assistance from a very experienced hypnotherapist.
It would be a real plus, if you can find someone with experience in being
helpful to those that suffer from "emetophobia," the name that has
been given to this condition. If you can't find such a person, the
next best thing is to consult with someone with extensive experience
in helping clients that suffer from other intense fears. Good luck!

In the book "My voice will go with you. The teaching tales of Milton H Erickson ISBN 0-393-30135-4" in the chapter 4 page 91, Kathleen: Treatment of a phobia. Milton deals with a girl with a vomiting phobia. I will not retell the story. If you have the possibility to read that chaper, I'm convinced that the story will motivate you to seek out a hypnotherapist.

I've also had great success treating a number of people with this problem and would heartily recommend you consult a hypnotherapist in your area.

Best wishes
