I found a great article on it. Not sure if this really belongs at this board, but...

I read it rather quickly. It seems as if science is attempting to explain the unexplainable. I don't believe I read the discomfort often felt when re-entering the body after the OBE.
There are many things that science still cannot explain. Some things just are.
Stay well,
Pood :)

I, too, don't think science is ever going to have the tools to explain the OBE phenomenon or how lucid dreams work entirely. When it comes to visiting these "mental worlds," the only person's opinion that matters is the person who is experiencing them. Who is to tell you what is real and what isn't? The key is to just try to go about your experience as objectively as possible and then learn something about yourself you may have not previously been aware of.

Science will never explain OBE simply because science demands proof positive, even though results claimed are often wrong, and proved so later.
My explanation is simple enough, too simple for science.
The mind, which is what does the travelling is spiritual, ie, it has no mass, no weight, and takes up no space. Therefore it need not obey the laws of this Universe as we know them, including "Time and space". It can travel to a far planet, too distant for us to reach physically. It can overcome time since time only exists for something with mass. My own experiments convince me, and it seems to me that only those who take the trouble to do the work will ever feel satisfied that they know the answer. I for example do not expect anyone else to accept my explanation, it is my own.....:)
