Hello again, perhaps i did not ask in a right way... What should someone look for when selecting a hypnotist? I asked because i have no clue, before i would just look up the yellow pages and choose the Hypnotherapist nearest to where i live. Please help

It really depends on what the hypnosis is for.
You'd look for different things for cancer, diabetes, phobia, smoking, etc.

Hi Explorer -

You said (relative to Merlin's response about " cancer, diabetes, phobia, smoking, etc. " ) : " before i thought that hypnotherapists focus on all things instead of specifc ones "

Please realize the " bread & butter " of most hypnotherapists doing their thing rests with * phobias, Stop smoking, and weight Loss * Services; as a direct result of most of their Trainer's narrowed mind-maps, including therefore what is possible... so, these 3 being what most focus their work on.
And
that is just as well, as you wouldn't want such people approaching a Client currently engaged in any of the " Htn-type conditions, diabetes, cancer, etc " . Guiding someone's Self-healing from these requires additional Learning, and Practice - beyond most Training currently available.

No matter, a limited Practice of " Stop smoking, and weight Loss " is every-bit as "medical" , and should only be approached after the Practitioner has a " Medical Referral ", on file in their office. If you contact a Practitioner not requiring this : *please* look for someone else, for your own protection.

Some hypnotists think they can do all things, but precious few can help you if you have diabetes. Even fewer if you have cancer.

Hypnosis is a tool, like a knife.
Almost anyone can butter bread.
Few are qualified to work on a brain tumor.
Both use the knife though.

Stopping Cancer is a bit different than stopping nail biting, though both may use hypnosis.

So I'd be right to think that it in most cases it would be better to get a Hypnotherapsit who has done other trainings such as Reiki, timeline, nlp etc whether specialized or not?

I am trained in Timelines, NLP and such, as well as hypnosis.
I do like having the right tool when I need it.
But, I don't have training in Reiki.
I find the mind is adequate for healing.

What does "Htn" in "Htn-type conditions" mean?

You asked : What does "Htn" in "Htn-type conditions" mean ?

(Sometimes, my posts get way too long, so then I will abbreviate some, using phrases or words - that unless you've been involved with the Medical establishment - you will have difficulty understanding what I was talking about, I apologize :) )

HTN is medical-eze for " Hypertension ", and in this context was intended to refer to such increasingly-debilitating and
chronic conditions in the " Circulatory- system ", including also strategic Pulmonary manifestations like:
A.S.D. : Arterio-Sclerotic Dis-ease, or
C.V.D. : Coronary Vascular Dis-ease, or
C.V.A. : Cerebro-Vascular Accident, aka : stroke, or
C.A.D. : Coronary Artery Dis-ease, or
C.H.F. : Congestive Heart Failure, or
& M.I. : Myo-cardial Infarction, aka : heart Attack, or
COPD. : Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Dis-ease, etc., etc.

In my 30+ yrs. of working in Medicine, I have become aquainted with, literally, over 120,000 " patients ", many of whom sporting a list of similar Diagnoses, several pages long ... sigh.

The Good news being : the same MIND having made the mistake of creating these dis-eased conditions in the 1st. place, can be guided into making new * self-Healing * choices, correcting these mistakes. :) and having helped some of these people win their freedom back, I intend to continue this rewarding Joy !

Would that more such Teachers were willing to guiding such suffering folks ...

There's nothing like the Present for beginning * Life, anew * :D
