Firstly, apologies if i have posted this in the wrong place....
Secondly, Thankyou for your time and wisdom :)
I had a stunningly clear vision a few months ago whilst in a trance, I was walking in a wooded mountain...I looked in a rock pool, it was slightly misty, water warm as if from a geyser/spring. Lying there was a samurai who looked at me with such intensity that i snapped out of the trance.
I relayed this recently to a psychic and upon doing so we both suddered with an electric intensity, hairs standing up on my arms, goosebumps and a real sense of presence touching me. I asked his name and she gave it to me asking for it and writing it down - which wasnt easy as its not a western name, at the same time upon instinct i also wrote it down... both our names written down were startlingly similar (allthough mine was off a bit but hey this is all new to me lol)...
Anyway... I am new to this, been studying self hypnosis... finding out about huna... its something I know i should do and feel a strong need to to develop for the next stage in my life.
Can anyone give me advice on how to develop my link with my spirit guide and the significance of a samurai. Also anything that you feel is of significance for me I would love to hear... Id be amazed if you know the name too :)

I would suggest you study Reiki where you can have spirit guides, power animal guides or whatever type guides you wish. It is very easy to purchase books on this subject on the internet or maybe there is a Reiki practitioner in your area that would allow you to look at the books to see if it is really what you want. I would, however, suggest that you seek the traditional Usui Reiki. Huna is Hawaiian and Reiki is Japanese and both are healing modalities.

When people become aware of things outside our perceived realities, it may be an indication that thier third eye is opening up, and allows us to tap into other 'realities' if you want to use that word. If this is your journey, I suggest that you do what you can to resolve any negative emotions in the past first, especially fear. What you bring into an expereince is amplified by your sensory system and your emtions. If you bring curiosity into it, you wil get it back ten fold. If you bring fear with it, that will also be returned to you ten fold. Any spiritual healing technology can help here, from Hawaiin Huna, to Pranic Healing, Kundalini Yoga, or even Time Line Therapy, EFT, Meridian Tapping can all help. Just a suggestion. You may find some other answers in these technologies too...
Best wishes on your journey.

All the best to you Thoradh
In one of NLP class we did an excercise to communicate with the spirit guide and balancing different energies(represented by the tarot cards). I did 5 energies out of 23.
It was based off the book listed below.
The Inner Garden: Meditations for Life from 9 to 90 (Paperback)
by Maureen Garth (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=books&field-author-exact=Maureen%20Garth&rank=-relevance%2C%2Bavailability%2C-daterank/104-8552730-5420732)
They did caution that the person was a bit angry when this was written so we have to be careful when we read this.

I really hate to tell you this but spirit guides have absolutely NOTHING to do with NLP in any way, shape or form. To understand NLP, you maybe should start off with some beginning books on the subject like "Structure of Magick" by Bandler & Grinder. I also know how to read Tarot cards but it has absolutely NOTHING to do with NLP. Maybe you should re-examine what you did learn in NLP and if it were not really NLP, you should ask for your money back.
Just because someone has perverted something into "their" mode of thinking and suckered people into it does not make it legit!
The NLP class I take mixes NLP with Spirituality. I am pretty good at NLP and have read books, done reframing, submodalities, timeline(both kinesthetic and visual) etc.
The procedure was called Energy Reframes where we balance about 23 energies and each energy was represented by one of the tarot cards(it got nothing to do with tarot card reading). As a part of the energy reframe we use a spirit guide to bring the energies together is a specific sequence to balance them. If you would like more information on energy reframes I can give it to you.

Apparently someone has come up with a new "hook" to teach the tried and true. Maybe you should just stick with regular old NLP, what cha think?? An interesting point would be to go back to the original pages where APU writes out what one learns in classes and also has a very, very good definition of NLP. APU teaches Huna, but it is NOT incorporated as part of NLP. Bennett/Stellar teaches Reiki but again it is NOT incorporated as part of NLP. They are separate modalities just as hypnosis and NLP are separate modalities.

Mostly what I learnt was NLP, they got into the spirit guides to teach us the Energy reframe procedure(took us about 1 hour to learn) which could be used as an effective tool like any other techniques.
It is interesting that you consider NLP and hyponisis as seperate modalities, I always thought that there were overlaps between hypnosis and NLP. For example Milton Model does involve a lot of deep rapport, embedded commands, a bit of induction. I don't have much experience in Milton model so I cannot say much about it. I would like to understand more as in why they could be different modalities.
Some of the spiritual stuff, I consider them to have overlaps with NLP. Someone told me that the Huna uses timeline too. Also in a way I look at all these techniques as ones that affect mind so there must be some overlap even if I cannot currently define them clearly.

Hypnosis has been around for approximately 4,000 years! Definitely not a new kid on the block. NLP was developed in the '70's. In some ways they CAN overlap or they can be used separately. NLP can produce a fantastic trance on it's own especially in the hands of a very skilled practitioner. One does not have to be hypnotized for many of the NLP applications to work well. Many NLP applications make hypnosis better. I'm sure you learned Parts and Parts Integration. This is a stand alone procedure for either hypnosis or NLP and I'm not really sure where I learned it. There is the 15 minute fast NLP Phobia cure or you can cure a phobia in hypnosis or Time Line Therapy. Just depends on how you want to work with the presenting problem to best serve the client. Usually a good idea to have a full "toolbox".
