Hi,

I've been sudying NLP for about a year and was so inspired by the guy that took my practioner training that I am now following a path I never thought I would and am loving every minute of it.

I am now heading toward my outcome of becoming a succesful life coach and NLP therapist and was looking for some help.

I have recently been contacted by 2 people that are looking for help in simple areas of their life. Nothing I can't handle but I'm still nervous as to how to approach it.

I was just looking for the forum's experiences of their early days in getting a feel for their new skills and using them to help people achieve their best. I'm really wanting to hear that I'm not the only one that's ever been a little nervous about setting down the first foot on the path.

I have so many questions...what if I do something wrong? can i do anything worng? do I allow my subconscious to take complete control? What sort of state do I want to be in before I meet a client for the first time?

If you can help and you are willing to share your experinces or just some stories about your practice then I would be delighted to read them, as I'm sure would others in the group. A valuable insight and the chance to model some of your behaviour...

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

B,

Ill offer you some help, but it wont be by feeding you pablum, nor will it be by telling you inspirational war stories. If you are going to use NLP in the real world, you are going to have to trust your self to be able to use it well. Sort of like riding a bicycle.

"I have so many questions...what if I do something wrong?"

How would you know if you did do something wrong?

How could you know exactly what the other person wants, and could rest assured that you have accomplished that, outside of their conscious awareness?

"can i do anything worng?"

sure

" do I allow my subconscious to take complete control?"

Have you integrated what you have learned to a level of unconscious competence?

"What sort of state do I want to be in before I meet a client for the first time?"

What do you imagine the optimum state would be?

Now if you will think, you might notice that the questions I asked represent a mindset that is IMO essential to being able to use NLP well.

Can you figure out what it is?

Cheers Skip,

And there i was living in 'effect' and foretting that I have the control and behavioural flexibility to control..well...anything, i s'pose.

Thank you for pointing me back in the right direction...

I was just feeling a little daunted by it all and I think i just have to celar some 'stuff' before I'm really ready. But I can do that, and i can do it soon...maybe by next week but I might find it's gone sooner than that...

hmmm.

I have to trust myself...now.

Will be back in a very little while...

Thanks again

Brian
