Ya know how in dreams you can experience hours in minutes? Is their a way to practice something in a dream world while in trance for hours (and have it as effective as hours in the real world) but it'd only take minutes? For things like karate or surfing or something it seems possible?

Given we agree that time is a mental concept, this is possible. Actually learning is a quick process. The isssue with skills however is, that those who require a motoric coordination need practice and there seem to be no shortcut.
Even if your mind could learn to read music from a sheet and learn which note on the sheet goes with which key on the piano, getting your fingers and hands to hit the right keys at the right time requires conditioning of muscles and that takes time.
Bottom line, everything that is a purely mind centric activity can be learned quicker in trance. Everthing that needs motoric conditioning can not be speed up (but you might speed up the intensity of the conditioning you do to a certain degree).

Can you give me some examples of things that require practicing that don't need motor skills :p ?

I just thought of something, doesn't your mind hold the memories for your motor skills? meaning if you did something in trance, your mind would remember and know the equivalent real world motor skill?

Smiles}}}
you got me. There is nothing i can think of actually
So sentence 2 of the bottom line is still valid. Sentence one is valid but makes no sense.
-Happens at times :P

Yes, that is right but even if you have the motor skills in your brain already there might not be the muscles and flexibility you need (think of Teak won do)

This is in common practice, but there are other shortcuts which can be even more effective.
Basketball: make the hoop the size of a hula-hoop
Golf: make the range shrink in size
Karate: make time go slower
etc.

So, Merlin, your saying that practice in a dream world type trance (even if the thing being practiced requires motor skills) can be improved? I especially like that karate idea, reminds me of the matrix :p .

Mentalist asked : Can you give me some examples of things that require practicing that don't need motor skills :p ?
Yes, for starters : *re*-learning how to access the states-of-mind making the things you're asking, that Merlin is sharing with you, possible.
(Once every person knew how,
but said skills are unfortunately systematically brainwashed away in favor of " earthly-knowledge " - dulling these senses.)
Fortunately, you can re-gain these skills, AND continue developing them further, at the effective level :)

in hypnosis you can learn all sorts of *wonderful*-skills, quickly & easily.
Just make sure that whatever you are learning in Hypnosis : 1st. harms no-one, & helps both yourself as well as others, ok :)

Your idea is fine, your attitude is what is wrong. You seem to want instant gratification, and that is not possible. However, if you are a golfer, you know you can only get in good practise during good weather. You therefor do the mental practise during the off season to be better come summer. Terry
