IF someone's primary 'representational system' is kinesthetic, what methods can be used to 'reframe' this modality? (Seems 'reframe' might be the wrong word, but you get what I'm meaning...)

(Er, yes, reframe is the wrong word :) )

No, not really.
Do you want to change it in some way, if so to what and why? Or do you want to develop other rep. system(s)?

Hi Taffy

Might be a bad question, though just thinking that reframing usually has a lot more to do with imagery.... and if someone primarliy interprets the world in terms of kinesthetic (or a lot of the time at least) - seems the only way to reframe it would be to -- well, actually how can it be reframed....? seems from what I understand that the visual gets the reframe and the output is the feeling. I kind of wonder what the structure is here for someone who interprets primarily kinesthetically... can the feeling be changed - - how would the feeling be manipulated to change the picture.... or is the operation always the other way round? Could be getting confused... just something I was pondering the other night there.. seemed to me the only language is that of more or less intensity but I'm not sure - because I have to use imagination - which is for me visual and auditory mainly - how I would go about imagining a reframe of a kinesthetic interpretation (should such a thing be possible).

sorry if this is confused any..
cheers

j0hnny#,

Why would you want to reframe a 'rep' system?

Change how they feel about the issue.

>seems from what I understand that the visual gets the reframe and the output is the feeling.

Not necessarily.

>can the feeling be changed

Of course it can

>how would the feeling be manipulated to change the picture....

What do you want to change? A feeling or a picture?

>seemed to me the only language is that of more or less intensity

There is a wide range of feelings.
Remember, all emotions are feelings too.

Lighten up :)
This question line is too heavy.
No need to be so firm.
It's not set in concrete.
We can learn to be flexible.
Just hang in there.
It'll come to you.
I'm sure Skip can lend you a hand.
He has this NLP stuff on solid ground.
No wavering there.

> how I would go about imagining a reframe of a kinesthetic interpretation...

soften it up a bit
lighten up
don't be the heavy
help them to get a grasp on things
get it set in concrete
and so on

Cheers Merlin, of course! that's precisely what I was looking for .... nice one, thanks. (for a minute there I thought you were having a dig lol, telling me to lighten up, etc.... heh, heh...):)
